Get to know me :)
Hi there! Thank you for visiting my blog! I really appreciate your feedback and support!
Aside from traveling, I really enjoy spending quality time with my family, fiancé and fur babies. I also enjoy nature, hiking, kayaking, cooking, planning, reading self-help or business books and, challenging myself to grow spiritually and intellectually. My favorite author is Ralph Waldo Emerson and I am adamant in the thought that animals were put on this earth to be loved and help guide us to become a more caring and compassionate version of ourselves....rather than using them as meat for our 10 seconds of enjoyment. I love and support veganism 100%. I stand behind it's the vital force in the bettering of our lives, the lives of animals, our health, and the earth's longevity.
I was born in the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic where I had chickens and goats as pets and where my love for nature, animals and the beach originates. When I was 8 years old my mom's job transferred her to the state of Pennsylvania in the USA. I remember having difficulties transitioning to the American culture at the beginning. In fact, I remember being called a lesbian because when I greeted my friends, I gave them kisses on the cheek, and naturally most of my friends were girls. To me, that was the way I grew up greeting people, and the only way I knew how, but to other 8-year olds, it was an odd way to greet people and they didn't want to understand why I was different, but I wanted to understand why they saw me as different. I had to get used to a different culture and a new set of norms. Years later I came to the conclusion that for me to understand how others thought, I had to first understand their culture. Since those days, I have been extremely curious in understanding all of our differences around the world and embracing the diversity.
I began my travels in 2014 and have been unstoppable ever since. Self-growth to me is the most important opportunity we, as humans, have been blessed with. My thirst for this has kept me motivated and inspired to continue what I call "The Sweet Travelife." Although what drives you and what drives me may be completely different, I believe that if you encompass a soul, we have a surplus of commonalities that connects us all.
Please join me on my travels and self-growths to the most beautiful places on earth. Learn from my mistakes and from my happiness and share it with the rest of the world so they too can flourish and grow :)
Here I am with my gorgeous kids! Shoobie is on my shoulders (rescued Cockatoo), Camden is on my lap (chihuahua), the white fluffy puppy is Bella (Palm/Yorkie mix) on the left and Teddy (Rat terrier) is my handsome little tuxedo man furthest left :)
What do you think? A big resemblance right?!
